Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a painter.
  • Excellent knowledge of painting materials, and how to select, mix, and apply them.
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
  • Aptitude in using brushes, caulking guns, and related tools.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity with balance for scaffolding and ladders.
  • Conscientious with great attention to detail.
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Eligible to pass a background check.
  • May require travel to additional worksites; mileage provided.

Responsibilities

  • Read instructions and examine surfaces to determine the required work.
  • Set up on-site scaffolding and cover fixtures.
  • Prepare walls by scraping, sanding, and removing old paint/wallpaper.
  • Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material.
  • Mix paints to achieve correct color/texture.
  • Paint surfaces with required tools as instructed.
  • Apply varnish and other finishes.
  • Adhere to health and safety precautions.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Painter, your responsibilities include:

  • Read instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
  • Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint and/or wallpaper, etc.
  • Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
  • Apply varnish and other finishes
  • Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven experience as a painter
  • Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
  • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
  • Good basic math skills
