Job Description

Painter

Painter - 1st Shift

Apply paint finishes to various materials, components, and structures according to military specifications, ensuring proper coating thickness and quality standards. Finish unpainted components as per specifications. Knowledge of application techniques and safety in industrial environments is required. Read tech data sheets, mix and apply coatings, and interpret blueprints for masking and surface finish requirements. Experience with industrial paints such as enamel, epoxy, and urethane is necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Surface Preparation: Clean and prep surfaces using sanders, sandblasting, and chemical coatings, removing rust, grease, and old paint following military specs. Finish unpainted components to specified standards.
  2. Paint Application: Use spray guns, brushes, and rollers for even coverage, adhering to application techniques and thickness requirements.
  3. Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces for defects, ensure compliance with specs, and maintain documentation.
  4. Documentation: Record paint types, batches, and inspection results as required.
  5. Safety Procedures: Follow safety protocols, PPE usage, proper ventilation, and hazardous material disposal.
  6. Equipment Maintenance: Service equipment including spray guns, paint booths, and sanding tools.
