FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the Backup Power Generation industry. We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology‑driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary

The Painter is responsible for applying protective and finish coatings to manufactured products, including tanks, trailers, structural components, and aluminum enclosures. This position ensures painted products meet quality, appearance, durability, and customer requirements while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and production schedules.

The ideal candidate will possess painting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or fabrication environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and safe work practices. Experience operating spray equipment and working with industrial coatings is highly desirable.

Essential Job Functions
Surface Preparation & Painting

Prepare products and surfaces for painting according to company standards and work instructions.

Read work orders, specifications, drawings, and instructions to determine coating requirements.

Select, mix, and prepare coating materials to specified color, consistency, and finish standards.

Apply paint coatings using approved methods to achieve required finish, appearance, and protection.

Paint tanks, trailers, enclosures, fabricated assemblies, and related products to automotive or industrial finish standards.

Ensure proper coating coverage, adhesion, and finish quality.

Perform touch‑up and rework activities when required.

Follow established procedures for paint application, curing, and finishing.

Equipment & Material Management

Operate paint spray equipment and related tools safely and effectively.

Clean, maintain, and store paint equipment, spray guns, hoses, and tools properly.

Monitor paint inventory, materials, and consumables.

Mix and prepare coatings according to manufacturer requirements and company standards.

Identify and report equipment, material, or quality concerns promptly.

Support paint booth maintenance and housekeeping activities.

Quality & Production Support

Inspect painted surfaces for defects, coverage, finish quality, and compliance with requirements.

Verify completed work meets customer expectations and company quality standards.

Maintain production efficiency while ensuring quality workmanship.

Support department goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Complete required production and quality documentation as necessary.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancement efforts.

Safety & Environmental Compliance

Follow all company safety policies, environmental procedures, and PPE requirements.

Wear and properly maintain required respirators and protective equipment.

Follow established procedures for respirator use, cleaning, storage, and inspection.

Maintain awareness of hazards associated with paints, coatings, chemicals, and solvents.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary hazards.

Support safety initiatives and participate in required training programs.

Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

One to two years of painting, finishing, manufacturing, automotive, industrial coating, or related experience.

Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, and production documentation.

Ability to accurately use a tape measure and perform basic measurements.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to work safely around chemicals, paints, solvents, and production equipment.

Strong awareness of surroundings, risks, and workplace hazards.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Must be medically cleared for respirator use in accordance with OSHA requirements.

Background check and pre‑employment drug screening required.

Highly Preferred

Industrial, manufacturing, or automotive painting experience.

Experience using spray guns and industrial paint equipment.

Experience painting tanks, trailers, enclosures, or fabricated steel products.

Experience applying industrial coatings and protective finishes.

Experience supporting startup operations or rapidly growing manufacturing facilities.

Preferred

Technical training related to painting, coating technologies, or industrial finishing.

Knowledge of paint preparation, mixing procedures, and coating systems.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Forklift operating experience.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing paint environment with regular exposure to loud noise, temperature fluctuations, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, solvents, and production byproducts within OSHA‑permissible exposure limits.

Employees work around paint booths, ventilation systems, spray equipment, forklifts, production machinery, and active manufacturing operations. Some tasks may be performed outdoors or between buildings depending on operational needs and production requirements.

Required PPE, including respirators, gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, and hearing protection, must be worn as required. Employees must follow all safety, environmental, and material‑handling procedures.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors, metal platforms, and manufacturing surfaces.

Ability to reach, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, climb, and maintain balance while performing painting and finishing tasks.

Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with spraying, sanding, masking, and equipment operation.

Ability to maintain manual dexterity necessary for detailed paint application and equipment operation.

Ability to visually inspect surfaces, colors, coverage, finish quality, and completed work.

Ability to work while wearing required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
