Job summary

Madison Property Management, a local family-owned, full-service property management company, is hiring a Painter. This is a full-time, hourly, in person position. The shift is Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

This role reports to the Painting Supervisor and is responsible for painting, staining, and performing drywall work to ensure the properties managed by MPM are kept up to applicable standards. Responsibilities include prepping surfaces, interior/exterior painting, drywall finishing,

Qualifications

• Painting, drywall and/or staining experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and solve problems.
• Comfortable using smartphones for work tasks.
• Driver's license and insured vehicle for daily use (miles within radius).
• Live within 30 miles of downtown Madison, WI.
• Assisting with snow removal is mandatory; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prep for painting walls, doors, and trim; interior and exterior.
• Paint using brush, roller and spray techniques.
• Layout, cut, install and finish drywall on walls/ceilings.
• Stain decks and houses; apply paints, varnishes and sealants.
• Operate extension ladders; work safely at heights.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with snow removal as needed.
• Contribute to a positive team environment; perform additional duties.

Job description

Responsibilities / Duties

• Accurately prep for painting walls, doors, and trim, both interior and exterior
• Painting using brush, roller, and spray
• Layout, cutting, installation, and finishing (including texture application) of drywall on both walls and ceilings
• Staining decks and houses
• Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish
• Ability to operate extension ladders and comfortable with heights
• Maintaining a clean work area including paint cans and other tools that need to be cleaned after each job
• Assist with snow removal
• Contribute to a positive team environment
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Painting, drywall, and/or staining experience preferred
• Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and have good problem-solving skills
• Comfortable using smartphones is preferred
• Driver's license and insured personal vehicle for daily use (MPM pays mileage).
• Live within a 30 miles radius of downtown Madison, WI
• Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
• Assisting with snow removal is mandatory.
• Overtime is mandatory during August-September campus turnover, including weekend work. May need to work overtime in other months
