Job summary

Job description

Madison Property Management, a local family-owned, full-service property management company, is hiring a Maintenance Technician III. This is a full-time, hourly, in person position. The shift is Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and work with to ensure that the properties managed by MPM are kept up to applicable standards.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Competently diagnose problems and make repairs in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Provide repair cost estimates, and recommend whether appliance repair or replacement is warranted.
• Read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals
• Complete work order reports and handle inventory appropriately
• Interact professionally with residents, office staff, and vendors as needed
• Communicate with the Property Management team to ensure that property residents and owners are kept in the loop on applicable maintenance projects
• Contribute to a positive team environment
• Develop an understanding of the MPM portfolio, inventory, and SOP’s
• Participate in the on-call rotation schedule
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair
• Must provide own tools
• Proficiency with computers and smart phones is necessary
• Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and have good problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and be flexible
• Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
• Driver's license and insured personal vehicle for daily use (MPM pays mileage).
• Live within a 30 miles radius of downtown Madison, WI
• Overtime is mandatory during August-September campus turnover, including weekend work. May need to work overtime in other months.
