Job summary

Wild Dunes Resort is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform painting, preventive maintenance, and routine repairs in guest rooms and public areas. You will handle guest requests, House Calls, and the upkeep of mechanical spaces with emphasis on safety, quality, and hospitality standards.

The role emphasizes timely responses, on-site work, and collaboration with Facility Operations to ensure guest satisfaction and brand excellence.

Qualifications

• Must have basic painting skills including paints, stains, enamels, epoxies and coatings.
• Must have basic furniture repair and touch up skills.
• Must have knowledge of installing and repairing wall covering.
• Must have drywall repair, mud and taping skills.
• Minimum 2 years in hospitality or service industry preferred.
• High School graduate or Technical/Trade School preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform guest requests as assigned by the Director/Assistant Director of Facility Operations or Dispatcher.
• Respond to guest requests within 15 minutes and House Calls within 30 minutes.
• Perform House Calls as instructed by leadership and dispatch.
• Track calls in HotSOS by room, request time and completion time.
• Perform routine PMs on guestrooms and public areas and document in HotSOS.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of shops, mechanical areas, and tools.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to manager.
• Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance of televisions and related equipment.
• Repair plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment as needed.

Summary

Responsible for painting and providing a wide variety of Maintenance Repairs of the highest quality referred to as “Service Requests / Preventive Maintenance Request”. Responsible for the routine scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) of the mechanical equipment as assigned. This position requires extensive guest contact; the service and attitude must be of the highest standards, quality and professionalism. This position is empowered to exceed expectations and provide a solution to any challenge the guest may encounter doing their stay, which will promote return visits and build brand recognition. Responsible for responding to “House Calls” (internal request for services) with the same level of service.

The Maintenance Technician shall always strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Essential job Functions

• Perform “Guest Requests” as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Facility Operations or the Dispatcher.
• Respond to “Guest Requests” within 15 minutes / House Calls within 30 minutes of receiving the request.
• Perform “House Calls” as instructed by the Director or Assistant Director of Facility Operations, Dispatcher or Housekeeping.
• Track calls in HotSOS by room number, time the request was received, response time and completion time.
• Communicate the above criteria to the dispatch upon completion.
• Perform routine scheduled PM’s on assigned guestrooms and public areas and document in HotSoS.
• Perform routine inspections and repairs on VIP rooms as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Facility Operations within a timely manner of at least 30 minutes before their scheduled arrival time.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned shops, mechanical areas, tool carts and tools.
• Report any unsafe conditions to your manager immediately
• Support and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures as designated by Wild Dunes Resort.
• Conduct troubleshooting, programming and replacement of guestroom televisions and associated equipment.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance to plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, and facility as needed or assigned.
• Track all associated inventory and maintain establishedinventory level
• Conduct walk throughs of hotel and surrounding grounds for lighting, quality, safety and general condition and complete any associated documentation as required or assigned.

Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

• Must have basic painting skills that include but not limited to working with paint, stains, enamels, epoxies, and coatings.
• Must have basic skill for furniture repair and touch up.
• Must have working knowledge of installation and repair of wall covering
• Must have working knowledge of drywall, drywall repair, mud and taping.
• At least 2 years in the hospitality or service industry preferred.
• High School graduate or Technical/Trade School preferred

• Must have valid Driver’s license and meet resort driving standards
• Must be able to drive guests safely in extreme weather conditions (rain, wind, fog)
• Must understand the usage of hand tools and some power tools.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking;
• Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs with assistance;
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
• While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat);
• Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
