Job summary

Pepper Construction in Illinois is seeking skilled painting craftsmen and craftswomen to apply paints, stains, varnishes, and decorative finishes to residential, commercial and industrial surfaces. They will select finishes for safety, durability, and customer desires on diverse projects.

Some specialty coatings work may include decorative details, such as stenciling, gold leafing and faux finishes on historic buildings and private residences.

• Select the best paint or finish for each surface, considering safety, durability, method of application and customer desires.
• Install and hang wallpapers, fabrics and heavy-duty production vinyl wall coverings.

Job Responsibilities

Our painting craftsmen and craftswomen apply paint, stain, varnish and various other decorative and specialty finishes and coatings to residential, commercial and industrial surfaces and structures. They select the best paint or finish for each surface, taking into account safety, durability, method of application, ease of handling and customer desires.

Some decorative projects require an artistic touch in the form of stenciling, gold leafing and faux finishes for the restoration of historic buildings, as well as private residences and commercial projects under the direction of Interior Decorators and Designers. Painters should be prepared to handle these as well as any other specialty coatings projects, such as bridges and water towers.

Install and hang wallpapers, fabrics and heavy‑duty production vinyl wallcoverings.
