Job summary

Autogate Inc is seeking a general painter to operate Graco ProMix 2KE equipment and apply primer and topcoat coatings to metal frames and parts. You will maintain booth cleanliness, perform routine maintenance, and ensure quality inspections before parts leave the booth.

The role requires reading work orders, following safety rules, and supporting the Paint Prep Technician. Prior experience is a plus, with a GED or high school diploma as a baseline.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 3–6 months related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure to the 32nd of an inch.
• Above-average oral and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Applies coatings (Primer/Topcoat) to frames, operators, gates, stock parts, and other accessories per work order.
• Thoroughly cleans spraying equipment with proper cleaning agents when finished spraying.
• Fills all pressure pots when needed to ensure continuous painting.
• Changes booth filters on a regular basis.
• Assists the Paint Prep Technician when needed.
• Follows daily/weekly department schedule to ensure proper products are coated.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment free of hazards and waste.
• Ensures quality inspections are complete before product leaves the booth.
• Follows HazMat policies per training received.

Summary: Operates Graco ProMix 2KE proportioner and manual spray-painting equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following:• Applies coatings (Primer/Topcoat) to frames, operators, gates, stock parts, and other accessories per work order• Thoroughly cleans spraying equipment with proper cleaning agents when finished spraying• Fills all pressure pots when needed to ensure continuous painting• Changes booth filters on a regular basis• Assists the Paint Prep Technician when needed• Follows daily / weekly department schedule to ensure proper products are coated• Maintains good general housekeeping, a clean and safe work environment free of open containers, wiping rags, empty paint cans, etc.• Ensures quality inspections are complete before product leave the booth• Follows all HazMat policies per training received• Assists with quarterly booth maintenance around production needs.• Follows all safety rules for the Paint Department• Other duties may be assignedAdditional Responsibilities:• Responsible for tracking and logging all primer, paint and thinner used within the departmentExpectations• Embrace the EOS process and integrate into all Department activities• Understand the roles of company leadership and AutoGate team members, system resources and processes both intra and inter department positions and duties• Utilize the most effective form of communication with employees, managers, co-workers, clients, and vendors• Understand that daily tasks through long term company vision are interwoven in the AutoGate EOS.
