Upstate Caring Partners, Inc. is seeking a Painter to handle masonry, carpentry, electrical and painting tasks, along with general maintenance and preventive upkeep. You will perform efficiency and safety tests and participate in agency activities at our Central New York location.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, field experience, and a valid NYS driver's license. The position offers competitive benefits and salary, with growth opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble scaffolding as required.
• Cover trim, floors, furniture and surfaces with masking to protect from paint.
• Set up ventilators and safety equipment to protect from fumes.
• Prepare surfaces by washing, filling holes, and sanding to smoothness.
• Apply primer and sealers for paint adhesion.
• Mix and match paint, stain, and finishes to spec.
• Apply paint and finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.

The Painter is responsible to accomplish assigned duties in masonry, carpentry, electrical and painting, perform efficiency tests, general ground and building maintenance, perform preventative maintenance and participate in Agency activities.

Core Responsibilities

• Assembling scaffolding as required
• Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
• Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect Painters from unhealthy fumes.
• Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they're smooth.
• Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
• Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications.
• Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers.

Qualifications
