Job summary

Chassis Master in Florida seeks a Lead Painter to bring deep automotive refinishing expertise and topcoat mastery to our luxury vehicle repairs. You will read specs, color-match, and ensure OEM finish standards are met.

You will lead and mentor refinishing technicians, schedule spray booth maintenance, and uphold EPA/OSHA requirements while delivering precise, high-quality work on schedule. The role offers a competitive flat-rate pay of $24.00–$28.00 per hour, Monday–Friday, in person, with

  • Minimum 5+ years of automotive refinishing experience with expert topcoat application.
  • ASE or I-CAR Certification required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Broward County Paint and Body License required.
  • Strong ability to read and follow instructions precisely and lead others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete paint applications, including color matching and mixing, for a quality finish.
  • Lead, train, and mentor Refinishing Technicians to ensure OEM standards and luxury quality.
  • Oversee spray booths, filters, lighting, and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain paint preparation standards to ensure vehicles meet quality guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local environmental regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce rework and costs.

Pay: $24.00-28.00/flat rate


Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in person

Requirements

The Lead Painter brings deep, well-rounded expertise across automotive refinishing and a high skill level in topcoat application, serving as the technical authority for the paint department. In addition to performing expert-level refinishing work, the Lead Painter directs, trains, and mentors the refinishing team, ensuring every vehicle meets luxury finish standards and OEM specifications. The ability to read and follow instructions precisely, work independently, and lead others in an organized, disciplined manner is essential. The Lead Painter must possess a positive leadership attitude, portray a professional business image, and act to assure efficient processing and preparation of all refinishing and production requirements. The Lead Painter must identify and resolve quality and production issues quickly.


You will play a vital role in ensuring every vehicle meets our paint and cosmetic standards before reaching our customers. This position involves performing advanced paint application, minor repairs, sanding, grinding, and painting preparation. You'll also support related reconditioning duties as needed, contributing to a team that values precision, quality, and efficiency. Your expertise helps deliver vehicles that meet our standards, creating an exceptional experience for every customer.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform complete paint applications, including color matching and mixing, for a quality finish.

  • Execute minor repairs such as sanding and grinding to restore vehicle surfaces.

  • Maintain paint preparation standards to ensure vehicles meet company quality guidelines.

  • Oversee routine maintenance and service scheduling of spray booths, filters, lighting, and related equipment.

  • Lead, train, and mentor Refinishing Technicians, ensuring consistent adherence to OEM standards and luxury quality expectations.

  • Assign and prioritize daily work among painters based on the production schedule, repair order deadlines, and technician skill level.

  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for color-matching, technical, and quality issues.

  • Conduct final quality inspections of team members' work, holding the finish to Chassis Master and OEM standards before sign-off in CCC.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with EPA, OSHA, and Miami-Dade County environmental regulations within the paint shop.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce rework, and control material costs.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 5+ years of automotive refinishing experience, with demonstrated expert-level topcoat application skills.

  • ASE or I-CAR Certification required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

  • Broward County Paint and Body License required

  • Strong working knowledge of OEM refinishing standards and color-matching systems
