Job summary

BMW Manufacturing Company in Spartanburg, SC invites a student intern to contribute to Paint Shop improvements while maintaining high volume and quality targets. You will help with data analysis, KPI tracking, and dashboard creation to support management decisions.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS in Industrial Engineering (or related field), GPA 3.0+, and are enrolled as a student in the United States. Term runs January 11th to May 14th, 2027; on-site work required and transcript attachment is

Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or similar engineering degree.
Skills: Microsoft Excel VBA, PowerBI, Minitab.

Responsibilities

Assists with continuous improvement activities throughout Paint Shop.
Organizes and develops teams to perform root cause analysis in Paint Shop.
Evaluates KPIs and participates in Shop Floor Management to improve efficiency and quality.
Aids in data visualizations/dashboard creation for management in Paint Shop.
Maintains Value Stream Maps for all areas in Paint Shop.
Audits Shop Floor Management Boards and standards.
Creates Bi-Weekly reports for management; understands VPS principles.
Adheres to 5S and safety standards; performs other duties as assigned.
Incorporates new Paint Line KPI integration; supports dashboard integration across BMW.
