Job summary

SCHWING America in White Bear Lake, MN, seeks a Paint Prepper Technician to apply final finishing touches on our equipment after it leaves the spray booth. You will handle paint touch-ups, wet sanding, decals, vinyl application, and final assembly to ensure each unit looks professional and is restored to proper working condition before moving to the next stage.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble components to restore equipment after leaving the spray booth.
• Perform paint touch-ups using a brush on repaired areas as instructed.

• Wet sand and buff painted surfaces to correct imperfections and achieve a quality finish.
• Apply vinyl decals according to location instructions.
• Apply full vinyl wraps as directed.
• Inspect work for appearance, quality, and accuracy.
• Follow established processes, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on production needs.

AtSCHWING America, quality doesn’t stop when the paint dries. We’re looking for a detail-orientedPaint Prepper Technician to join our Paint Department in White Bear Lake, MN.

In this hands-on role, you’ll complete the final finishing work on our equipment after it leaves the spray booth. From paint touch-ups and wet sanding to decals, vinyl application, and final assembly, your work helps ensure every unit looks professional and is restored to proper working condition before it moves to the next stage.

What You’ll Do

As a Paint Prepper Technician, you will:

• Assemble and disassemble components to ensure equipment is restored to its original working condition after leaving the spray booth
• Perform paint touch-ups using a brush on repaired areas and as instructed
• Repair spot panels as needed
• Wet sand and buff painted surfaces to correct imperfections and achieve a quality finish
• Apply vinyl decals according to specified location instructions
• Apply full vinyl wraps as directed
• Inspect your work for appearance, quality, and accuracy
• Follow established processes, work instructions, and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Perform other duties as assigned based on production needs

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience as a detailer in a paint, auto body, collision repair, or similar environment
• Single-stage paint experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality finished work
• Strong mechanical aptitude; previous automotive or mechanical experience is preferred
• Experience with wet sanding, buffing, paint correction, decals, or vinyl application is highly desirable
• Ability to follow established processes and detailed work instructions
• Certified forklift operator or ability to successfully complete SCHWING forklift training
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a production team

Physical Requirements

This is a hands‑on production position. You must be able to:

• Work on the production floor for the duration of the shift
• Lift and handle materials weighing up to50 pounds, as needed
• Perform physical tasks associated with sanding, buffing, assembly, detailing, and finishing large equipment
