Job summary

Gulf Island LLC is seeking a Paint Prepper to prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, wiping, caulking, and supporting painters in mixing and applying paints. The role includes inventory checks and assisting in metal finishing tasks, with emphasis on safety and quality in a primarily outdoor environment.

The ideal candidate will have basic surface prep skills, the ability to read a tape measure, and readiness to pass pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of sanding, caulking and surface preparation techniques.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Sand and smooth surfaces to prepare for painting.
• Wipe down surfaces to remove dust, dirt, oils for proper paint adhesion.
• Apply caulk to seams and joints as needed.
• Assist with setup and preparation of parts for paint booth or finishing process.
• Safely work from ladders to reach high areas during prep work.
• Support paint and finishing team to ensure quality and timely production.
• Assist painters with painting tasks and inventory checks.
