Gulf Island is seeking a Paint Prepper to prepare surfaces for painting in a production environment. You will sand, wipe, caulk, and assist with paint preparation, mixing, and inventory checks. The role requires safe work from ladders and adherence to all safety procedures.

Desirable candidates have a HS diploma and at least 1+ year in manufacturing, are able to read a tape measure, and can pass a drug screen and background check. Benefits are offered as part of a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of sanding, caulking and surface prep techniques.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and use protective equipment.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Sand and smooth surfaces for painting.
• Wipe surfaces to remove dust, dirt and oils for proper adhesion.
• Apply caulk to seams for a clean finish.
• Assist preparation of parts for paint booth or finishing.
• Support painters with mixing paints and checking inventory.
