Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a Paint Prep I for our manufacturing environment. The role involves preparing parts for painting, including wiping, sanding, inspecting, plugging, and masking components, and removing debris to ensure quality standards are met.

You will also hang parts, operate material handling equipment, and assist with inventory management where needed. The position requires ability to work overtime as needed and to maintain regular on-site attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience in prepping parts for painting and inspection.
• Ability to plug and mask parts for paint adhesion.
• Willingness to operate material handling equipment safely.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Forklift or related equipment certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wipe, sand, and inspect parts in preparation for paint.
• Plug and mask parts to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Blow out water and debris from cavities within parts.
• Operate overhead hoist to hang parts for painting.
• Inspect finished parts to meet production/quality standards.
• Identify root causes of paint defects and address them.
• Safely operate forklifts or tuggers as needed.
• Maintain inventory by labeling and stocking materials.
• Uphold a safe, clean 6S-compliant work environment.
