Job Description

Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes. Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting. Clean walls to ensure proper adherence. Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection. Stage supplies and materials and perform proper cleanup.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Surface preparation: Cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming surfaces to prepare them for painting.
* Painting: Applying paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
* Protecting surfaces: Covering furniture and woodwork with drop cloths or masking tape to protect them from paint.
* Repairing: Filling cracks and holes with caulk, putty, or plaster.
* Equipment maintenance: Cleaning and caring for brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other equipment.
* Scaffolding: Erecting and rigging scaffolds to reach high ceilings or walls.
* Inventory: Requesting equipment and supplies and tracking inventory.
* Emergency response: Responding to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
* Transportation: Transporting tools, equipment, and supplies to the job site.
* Estimating: Estimating time, materials, and costs.
* Record keeping: Maintaining records and reports.
* Shall support excellence in customer service and deliver excellent customer service both to internal and external customer while having the ability to work collaboratively to build professional working relationships with colleagues, coworkers, and customers.
* Shall identify safety concerns to Supervisor and other required stakeholders. (DOD, ARMY, OSHA, ANSI, other industry identified)
* Shall assist in maintaining accurate files and provide documentation to Government Lead when requested.
* Shall provide and assist with required monthly data to Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix of all related matters.
* Shall make sure that all administrative functions/paperwork is in order relative to receipt documentation, work orders, or internal paperwork are accomplished on time and in the required format.
* Shall be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe worksite while performing or conducting job duties and be attentive to detail.
* Shall support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the US ARMY.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Minimum of (5) Years of Residential or Commercial Painting Experience.
* High School Diploma/GED.
* Active CLASS C Driver's License.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

* Primarily Mobile; The work environment occurs primarily in office interiors and building settings.
* Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
* Will need to walk interior building sites and oversee painting jobs and inspections.
* Painting maintenance can be physically demanding, requiring a lot of bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
* Painters may work indoors and outdoors, and may be exposed to fumes, dust, and odors.
* Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities.

Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
* Must be able to successfully complete a background check.

Rate of Pay/Benefits

Hourly Rate: $22.43
