Job summary

Sedona Staffing Services is seeking Paint Line Technicians in Freeport, IL. Shift runs 6AM to 2:30PM, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $16 per hour.

The role focuses on operating and maintaining the paint line to apply coatings, meet quality standards, and achieve production targets. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, some experience in coatings or manufacturing, and the ability to read procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or coatings/paint environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read/process documentation, work orders, SOPs.
• Strong attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to lift 50–60 lbs repetitively; stand for long periods.
• Good manual dexterity and coordination.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Overtime flexibility and occasional weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate painting equipment (spray guns, conveyors, booths, dryers).
• Prepare surfaces for paint: cleaning, masking, sanding, pretreatment as required.
• Mix primers, topcoats, thinners per specifications.
• Monitor paint application for thickness, coverage, and uniformity; adjust parameters as needed.
• Load/unload parts on the line; hang fixtures and remove parts.
• Conduct in-process inspections and document defects.
• Perform touch-ups or rework and coordinate with quality.
• Maintain cleanliness of paint booth and surroundings; perform preventive maintenance.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance; use PPE and handle solvents.
• Document production data and downtime; coordinate with upstream/downstream operations.
• Participate in lean initiatives to reduce defects and waste; assist training as needed.
