Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Paint Line Operator to support continuous improvement across production processes, ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction by following SOPs and contributing to quality objectives on the coating line.

Responsibilities may include burner, loader/unloader, and packout tasks. You will read and follow SOPs, document production records, and perform quality checks, while supervising line flow, training others, and coordinating with quality staff to meet

Qualifications

  • Powder coating experience is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Solid verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of blueprints and work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and follow SOPs for each task.
  • Complete required production documentation clearly and accurately.
  • Perform established quality checks on material at required intervals.
  • Monitor loading/unloading of parts and line density; ensure proper hanging methods.
  • Train others on production tasks, including hanging methods, checks, loading, and packing to customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with quality staff to ensure product meets specs and adjust as needed for line continuity.
  • Operate forklifts and burn off painted racks/hardware, rework parts, and sandblast after burn off where trained.
  • Meet established production standards for the department.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Follow safety standards and procedures; adhere to policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Job Summary

The Fabricating job family ensures an environment of continuous improvement exists in the organizations production processes, operating procedures and workflows in order to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. General areas of responsibility include producing products for OEM partners; developing quality objectives; documenting procedures; implementing and measuring quality measurements; delivering training; and leading the organization through industry quality certification processes. Positions in fabrication as a Paint Line Operator can include job titles such as Burner, Floater, Loader/Unloader, Paint Prep, and Packout.

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function
  1. Read, understand, and follow the steps outlined in SOPs for each task being performed.
  2. Complete required documentation including production records, quality checks, labels, etc. in a complete, legible, and accurate manner.
  3. Perform established quality checks on material at required intervals to ensure all product specifications are being met.
  4. Monitors the loading and unloading of parts to ensure correct hanging methods, line density calculations, and unloading/stacking procedures are adhered to.
  5. Helps train others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures that include hanging methods, parts check/verification, loading and unloading, and packing out parts according to customer specifications.
  6. Collaborate with quality staff to ensure the product is meeting company and customer specifications and adjust as needed to ensure line continuity.
  7. Trained and authorized personnel will operate forklifts and be responsible for burning off painted racks/hardware, reworked parts, and sandblasting after completion of burn off.
  8. Meet established production standards for the department.
  9. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  10. Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  11. Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.
Required Skills
  • Previous experience in a powder coating environment a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task & handle task with competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
