Job summary

Katalyst CRO is seeking a Lab Support role to assist in technical paint testing, color development, and brand color validation activities at our Lancaster County lab. You will perform routine laboratory tests, document data, and maintain test equipment related to paint development programs including Dynamic Blue and SSP.

Responsibilities include preparing panels, operating spectrophotometer and related equipment, recording data, and coordinating with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers and corrosion chambers.
• Tests for color, gloss, adhesion, corrosion, humidity and other paint performance.
• Prepare paint panels and samples for testing and evaluation.
• Supplier coordination and testing project management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare paint panels and samples for testing and evaluation.
• Operate laboratory test equipment under supervision of the Paint Specialist.
• Perform routine tests for color, gloss, adhesion, corrosion, humidity and other paint performance attributes.
• Record, organize and enter test data into laboratory systems and project files.
• Monitor ongoing tests and document abnormalities or deviations.
• Track incoming color standard requests and maintain accurate project status.
• Send weekly color standard status updates to cross functional teams.
• Follow up internal requests for missing or incomplete test request forms.
• Contact suppliers to request timelines for submitted samples and materials.
• Update paint project tracking forms with status and deadlines.
• Maintain organized records of communications, test data and supplier responses.
• Send standardized instructional emails and support communication for paint development workflows.
• Assist with scheduling workload items and organizing test queues for the lab.

Supports Paint Specialist in the execution of technical paint testing, color development and brand color validation activities. Performs routine laboratory tests, documents data and maintains test equipment related to brand color development programs including Dynamic Blue and SSP.
