Osterville Hardware is seeking an Assistant Paint Manager to work on the sales floor, helping customers with their paint needs and solving problems. You will tint and mix paints, explain products, and collaborate with the store manager to meet priorities and goals.

Training will be provided one-on-one and via online courses across departments, with a focus on customer service, product knowledge, and efficient store operations in a small-town setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and guide them to paint products.
• Assist customers with product selection and problem solving.
• Explain products, tinting, and mixing processes to customers.
• Operate paint tinting and mixing machines and POS system.
• Stock shelves and manage department organization; assist with ordering.
• Maintain store cleanliness and department presentation.
• Acquire product knowledge through training and self-learning.
• Support store manager in achieving department goals and priorities.
• Handle opening/closing tasks as needed.

We are looking for someone who wants to build and grow our paint department.

In the position of assistant paint manager, you will be working on the sales floor directly with the customers. You will be assisting customers with their needs and assisting in solving their problems. Understanding and explaining the products as well as tinting and mixing paints are critical parts of this position. You will be working with our store manager and will be expected to fulfill our mission and achieve our priorities and goals. Outside of working with our customers you will be expected to help ordering and stocking products, cleaning and maintaining the organization of the store and your specific department. Being knowledgeable about the products we sell is an important part of the job. We will train you one on one as well as through online training in all departments and aspects of the store as well as your specialized department. There are many different services that we offer, and we will train you so you can better assist the customers and help solve their problems.
