Job summary

Crom, LLC in High Point, NC is seeking a Paint & Coatings Laborer to perform field work in commercial and industrial painting and coating applications.

  • Work with senior personnel and follow directions.

Paint & Coatings Laborer

Full Time Manual Labor High Point, NC, High Point, NC, US

Job Purpose: The function of the Technician Recruit is to execute and perform work in the field—including Commercial Painting , Industrial Painting , and specialized surface preparation—according to strict methods and procedures as directed by the Project Manager, Superintendent, and/or Technician III.

Develop a basic understanding of and ability to use tools, materials, and equipment involved in the repair and application of Coatings and Linings for concrete and steel water infrastructure.

Master surface preparation techniques, including Pressure Washing and Sandblasting , to ensure substrate integrity.

Learn and understand standard repair techniques to determine the proper equipment and materials necessary for the installation of Secondary Containment systems and protective barriers.

Perform repairs, cleanings, and modifications of concrete and steel water infrastructure under the direction of senior personnel.

Understand and follow the directions of senior personnel during the work process.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Some construction experience in the water/wastewater industry, or general experience in Industrial Painting and infrastructure repair, is preferred.

Basic construction experience, including concrete basics and carpentry skills, is a plus.

Must be able to work at different heights off the ground.

Must pass a background check, drug screening, Pulmonary Function Test, and Fit Test (required for respiratory protection during Sandblasting and coating applications).

Must be a team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel.

Must be able to pass the Services Field Advancement Level 1 Exams and advance to Technician I within one year of employment.

Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies regarding advanced Coatings and application methods.

Working Conditions:

The position requires the individual to be at the shop as well as in the field. Travel is required to go to the job sites and overnight stays away from home will be necessary. While on site, the ability to move around a construction site is needed which will require climbing and working off the ground. Training in the use of different types of personal protective equipment, including fall protection and respirators, will be required. Typical construction site conditions are expected to include loud noises as well as dust and the odors of construction materials being utilized.
