Job summary

UNC Health Cary Orthopaedics is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) to join the Interventional Pain and Spine team in an outpatient setting. This 0.6 FTE role offers mentorship, no call responsibilities, and flexible FTE options.

The APP will evaluate and manage spine-related pain, interpret imaging, and perform select procedures under physician mentorship, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a well-established orthopedic practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed PA in North Carolina.
• Experience in pain management/spine care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate/manage acute and chronic pain conditions, esp. spine.
• Review MRI/diagnostic imaging to support treatment planning.
• Conduct follow-up visits after interventional procedures (spinal injections).
• Collaborate with physician to develop and adjust treatment plans.
• Manage clinic patients independently while physician performs procedures.
• Perform select office-based procedures within scope and training.
• Participate in ongoing procedural training and mentorship.
• Provide patient education and accurate documentation.
