Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the Fair Oaks Pain Clinic. The role is Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with possible travel to Fairfax East and Loudoun Pain Clinics as needed.

The position focuses on interventional and nonopioid pain management within a multidisciplinary team, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level nursing or physician assistant education required.
• Master's degree and completion of accredited NP/PA program.

Responsibilities

• See a mix of new and established pain patients under physician supervision.
• Obtain comprehensive medical and pain histories; perform focused physical exams.
• Manage acute and chronic pain with non-opioid strategies when appropriate.
• Educate patients and coordinate referrals to Neurosurgery, Behavioral Health, Rehab/PT, etc.

Inova is looking for a dedicated Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the team. This role will be Full Time, M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm primarily at our Fair Oaks Pain Clinic with possible travel to Fairfax East and Loudoun Pain Clinics if/when needed.

Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for seeing a mix of new patients and establish patients to collaborate and support 1 physician at the Fair Oaks pain clinic as well as supporting additional physicians at other locations in Fairfax and Loudoun as needed.
• Obtain comprehensive medical and pain histories
• Performed focused physical exams (spinal, motor and musculoskeletal)
• Management and assessment of Acute and Chronic (mostly) pain management
• Recommend pharmacology options such as non-opioid management
• Patient education, referrals to Neurosurgery, Behavioral Health, Rehab/PT, etc. when appropriate
• Procedures interventions if interested: Trigger point and joint injections
• Assessing behavior comorbidities and referring to pain psychologist on staff when appropriate
• Assists and performs prior authorizations, peer -to- peers, patient follow ups
• Common conditions managed:
• Chronic low back pain
• Neck pain
• Radiculopathy
• Spinal stenosis
• Degenerative disc disease
• Neuropathic pain
• Post surgical pain

Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Minimum Requirements

• Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Master's degree required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred. Prior experience in Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Primary Care, or a related specialty is preferred. Experience evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions is desirable.
• Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
• Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year prior APP experience
