Job summary

Starling Physicians, part of Summit Health, seeks a compassionate, skilled Pain Management Physician to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has strong interventional pain expertise and is dedicated to patient-centered care in a physician-led practice.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and performing procedures such as epidural injections, nerve blocks, RF ablations, and PRP therapy, with emphasis on outcomes and education.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with accredited residency and fellowship in Pain Medicine.
• Board certification/eligibility in Anesthesiology, PM&R, or related with pain focus.
• Valid CT medical license or ability to obtain.
• Strong procedural skills with image-guided interventional techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and Board Certified/Board Eligible Pain Management Physician to join our team of dedicated specialists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interventional pain management and a commitment to providing patient-centered care. You will play a critical role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients suffering from acute and chronic pain, using a variety of interventional and regenerative modalities. Expansive community referral base, in addition to internal referrals from orthopedics, sports, and podiatry provides an excellent opportunity to easily develop a robust patient panel.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations include medical history, physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and imaging review.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on interventional procedures and regenerative techniques.
• Perform a wide range of procedures including but not limited to:
  • Epidural steroid injections
  • Selective nerve root blocks
  • Facet and medial branch blocks
  • Radiofrequency ablations
  • Spinal cord stimulation trials/implants
  • Joint and trigger point injections
  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy
• Monitor and reassess patient outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize pain relief and improve quality of life.
• Educate patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Requirements include:

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited residency and fellowship in Pain Medicine.
• Board certification/eligibility in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & PRehabilitation, or related specialties with a focus in Pain Medicine.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license in Connecticut (or ability to obtain).
• Strong procedural skills and experience with image-guided interventional techniques.
• Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork.
