Job summary

Providence Swedish in Seattle seeks a Physical Therapist to join an interdisciplinary team providing direct clinical services in outpatient Functional Restoration and hospital-based Pain Management settings.

You will work within a patient-centered, whole-person care culture, applying bio-psychosocial approaches and Pain Neuroscience Education to improve outcomes for diverse patients.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Washington PT license or temporary permit on hire.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) on hire.
  • Strong understanding of bio-psychosocial model of chronic pain.
  • Knowledge of Pain Neuroscience Education in treatment plans.
  • Strong orthopedic background and patient counseling skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple demands and work with diverse teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with families, patients, physicians and other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical physical therapy services in SPS outpatient Functional Restoration and Pain Management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop care plans.
  • Engage in patient education and pain neuroscience strategies.
  • Participate in different care settings as required by system needs.

Description


The Physical Therapist (PT) is a member of the interdisciplinary team that provides direct clinical services to the Swedish Pain Services (SPS) including the outpatient "Functional Restoration" center and hospital-based "Pain Management" suite.

Required Qualifications:



  • A graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy.

  • Upon hire:

  • Washington Physical Therapist License --or--

  • Washington state physical therapy license, or temporary permit

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

  • Strong understanding of bio psychosocial model of chronic pain

  • Ability to learn and/or integrate the latest concepts of Pain Neuroscience Education into treatment plans

  • Strong orthopedic background

  • Highly developed interpersonal, and counseling skills required

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple demands and projects

  • Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population

  • Ability to work effectively with groups

  • Ability to develop cooperative relationships with families, patients, physicians and other health care professionals within and outside Swedish

  • Ability to work in different settings as required by system needs


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Women's health continuing education or certification experience

  • Pain Neuroscience continuing education or certification as therapeutic pain specialist

  • Graduation from accredited DPT program

  • Experience in ortho, neuro, cancer, cardiac or other designated specialty populations based on campus needs

  • Experience treating chronic pain

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
