Job summary

University Physicians is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide patient-centered care for individuals with acute and chronic pain. The NP will collaborate with physicians and the care team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage treatment plans tailored to each patient.

The role requires licensure as an NP, board certification, BLS, and DEA registration, with duties including plan development, medication management, patient education, and care coordination for complex pain cases.

Qualifications

• Current & unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
• National board certification appropriate to the NP's specialty.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current DEA registration
• Eligible for or able to obtain appropriate state prescribing authority.
• Ability to meet the credentialing and privileging requirements of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with acute and chronic pain within NP scope of practice.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based pain management treatment plans with supervising physician.
• Initiate and adjust medications in accordance with laws and policy.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, safety, and adverse effects.
• Educate patients on medications, risks, benefits, and expectations.
• Coordinate referrals to physical therapy, behavioral health, and specialists as clinically indicated.
• Maintain complete electronic medical records and documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure quality outcomes.
