Epic Pain Management in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Front Desk – Check Out to join our team at the Stone Oak location. The role focuses on patient check-out, scheduling, provider orders, documentation, and follow-up in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Candidates should have pain management experience and hands-on Athena/AthenaOne proficiency. The position offers supportive front office teams, HIPAA-compliant workflows, and opportunities to contribute to a patient-centered care experience.

Qualifications

• Previous Pain Management experience required.
• Hands-on Athena/AthenaOne experience required.
• Experience in medical front office, patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, or patient access.

Responsibilities

• Check out patients following completion of their scheduled visits.
• Ensure patients are properly checked out and all follow-up needs are addressed.
• Review patient information and provider orders for accuracy and completion.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and provide patients with non-clinical information regarding next steps.
• Review procedure orders to ensure correct department assignment and closure.
• Document patient-declined procedures per workflows.
• Assist with patient check-in when needed.
• Answer incoming front desk calls promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate telemedicine appointments between patients, providers, and Medical Assistants.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Athena/AthenaOne.
• Protect PHI per HIPAA requirements.
