Job summary

J&K Commercial Construction is seeking a dependable Shop Laborer to support our stainless steel fabrication division. This entry-level position provides hands-on training, exposure to deburring, grinding, and assembly of commercial kitchen equipment, with opportunities to grow into skilled fabrication tasks.

You’ll learn to read fabrication drawings, operate power tools, and move materials while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality are essential in a team-based shop environment.
• Familiarity with grinders, cutoff wheels, drills, impacts, and other power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure and basic fabrication drawings.
• Basic math and good communication skills are required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and follow instructions with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation and safety certifications after hire.

Responsibilities

• Deburr sheet metal products and prepare components.
• Use grinders, Scotch-Brite wheels, and deburring tools on parts.
• Assist with assembling stainless steel cabinets, display cases, and kitchen equipment.
• Support fabrication crews and package finished products.
• Load and unload trucks; move materials with pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Read basic fabrication drawings; maintain a clean, safe shop.
• Learn additional fabrication processes as skills grow.
