Job summary

Burns & Wilcox is offering a 12-week summer internship that focuses on building business acumen, communication, and leadership through hands-on experience in the specialty insurance industry. The paid internship requires 40 hours per week, on-site in our Chicago office, with immersion in at least one underwriting team (commercial, personal, or professional lines).

As an undergraduate, you should be pursuing a degree in Risk Management and Insurance or a related field, with strong Microsoft

Qualifications

• Enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited university, pursuing a degree in Risk Management and Insurance (strongly preferred).
• Expected graduation in December 2027 or May 2028.
• Previous internship experience is preferred.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in agent marketing calls and attend client meetings.
• Engage in insurance policy renewals.
• Update new business and renewals in Microsoft Excel.
• Determine which program or market best meets the needs of agency clients.
• Communicating loss notices and policy changes.
• Work alongside senior leaders on special projects.

Education

Undergraduate enrollment in Risk Management and Insurance (strongly preferred)
