Job summary

Fermilab’s VALOR JROTC program offers a paid, six-week summer internship for Illinois JROTC high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates. Interns provide routine technical support for an assigned area under supervisor guidance, collaborating with project teams and Fermilab staff at the Batavia, IL campus.

The internship runs June 28, 2027 – August 6, 2027, with application dates in early 2027. Salary is $18 per hour and the position is onsite with no housing or transportation reimbursement

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an Illinois high school JROTC program
• Illinois high school junior, senior, or recent high school graduate at time of application
• Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Interns provide routine technical support for an area of assignment, typically an experiment or support group, under direct Fermilab supervision.
• Work with project teams, scientists, engineers and support personnel in accordance with Fermilab policies.
• Assist with deliverables and participate in program activities as assigned.
