Job summary

Indiana Regional Medical Center, Inc. offers an 8-week paid nurse externship for nursing students entering their senior year of a BSN program or in the third semester of a diploma/associate degree program.

Graduates in 2027, 2028 are eligible and will work under a Registered Nurse preceptor. Applicants must complete the online IRMC application, submit a resume, two letters of recommendation, transcripts (minimum GPA 3.0), and participate in interviews beginning December 2026.

Qualifications

• Senior year BSN student or third semester of a diploma/associate degree program.
• Graduating December 2027, Spring 2028, or Summer 2028 to be eligible for the program.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Able to work under RN supervision and perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including serving meals and feeding patients as necessary.
• Provide personal hygiene assistance and assist patients unable to help themselves.
• Assist in ambulating, turning, positioning, and transporting patients; respond to call lights.
• Document care and observations accurately and follow organizational policies and patient privacy.
