Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) invites undergraduates in the United States to join its 10-week Summer Internship Program in Philadelphia. Interns work full‑time, gain mentorship, attend weekly seminars with leaders in freedom of expression, and contribute to major student programs while earning a $6,400 stipend plus additional compensation as counselors during FIRE’s Free Speech Forum.

Selected cohorts are small and competitive, typically 8–12 interns yearly.

Qualifications

• Strong research, writing, and communication skills are required.
• Open to rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors attending colleges in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Assist with research and administrative projects across multiple FIRE teams.
• Plan and help execute the FIRE Student Network Summer Conference in July 2027 in Philadelphia, and lead sessions for attendees.
• Serve as a residential counselor during the Free Speech Forum, providing supervision and mentorship.
• Contribute to FIRE’s Newsdesk and other communications efforts.
• Engage in weekly seminars with staff and experts on civil liberties.
