Job summary

The Arthur D. Hellman Fellowship in First Amendment Litigation at FIRE offers rising 2Ls and 3Ls a 10-week, paid opportunity to work on cutting-edge civil liberties litigation in either Philadelphia or Washington, D.C.

The fellowship includes an $8,000 stipend and runs June 1, 2027 through August 6, 2027, with training in legal research, writing, and media relations. Fellows contribute to active cases, build professional networks via FIRE’s Alumni Association, and may pursue future opportunities

Qualifications

• Rising 2Ls and 3Ls with strong civil liberties interest.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist FIRE litigators on First Amendment matters.
• Conduct legal research and write memoranda and briefs.
• Support media relations and client interactions in ongoing cases.
