Job summary

The Reading School District invites applications for a School Psychologist Intern. This full-time, benefits-eligible internship earns a $15,000 stipend for the 1,200-hour minimum and aligns with PA and NASP requirements.

Interns gain hands-on psychoeducational experience, weekly supervision, and access to district health benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Interns must be enrolled in an accredited school psychology graduate program, working toward PA state certification or NCSP,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited school psychology graduate program and working toward Pennsylvania state certification and/or Nationally Certified School Psychologist credential.
• Experience working with students with disabilities and youth at risk.
• Ability to travel within the workday to a variety of school settings and environments.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly supervision sessions.
• Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations to aid in identification and development of educational services for students.
• Conduct reevaluations of students as per standards and regulations.
• Select and administer psycho-educational assessments, curriculum-based assessments, and functional behavioral assessments for educational planning.
• Present and discuss evaluation findings with parents and team members.
• Observe classes as part of assessments.
• Provide instructional and behavioral consultation services.
• Conduct counseling and behavior management sessions.
• Maintain case records on all referred students.
• Interpret school psychological services to teachers and parents.
