Job summary

JP Cullen in Wisconsin is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on experience on active construction sites. You will support safety audits, document findings, and help develop training materials while learning industry best practices.

The internship emphasizes real-world projects, daily logs, toolbox talks, and presentations. You will work with our safety team, travel to job sites as needed, and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Management.
• Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and construction site safety practices.
• Ability to assist with safety audits, inspections, and incident reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Work on agreed upon projects throughout the intern process (i.e. jobsite safety audit walks, updating forms, formal program creation, training programs, etc.).
• Complete job site safety audits to recognize and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors; offer corrective actions.
• Give presentations throughout the internship (1 per month recommended).
• Travel to jobsites for operations meetings, safety trainings, and planning; write up notes for daily log.
• Complete/assist with accident/incident investigations and document findings.
• Keep up to date calendar and daily log of activities.
• Complete safety audit reports and send to Superintendents.
• Complete 1 Toolbox Talk per week and submit to supervisor.
