Job summary

GrayMatter Robotics in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Robotics Engineering Intern to join the Customer Success team onsite in Carson to advance robotic surface treatment applications.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and test systems for robotic grinding and support proofs of concepts for new customers during a paid internship from October 2026 through March 2027. Candidates must be available to start by October 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have earned a bachelor’s degree in robotics, mechanical, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience with iterative design and prototyping of cyber-physical and mechatronic systems.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes and industries.
• Ability to read and interpret C++/Python code.
• Experience with Visual Studio Code.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Customer Success team with cross-functional groups on designing, implementing, and testing systems for robotic grinding applications.
• Partner with Senior Application Engineers to support robotic solutions.
• Participate in rigorous system testing practices.
• Assist in proofs of concepts for new customers.
• Hands-on problem solving and continuous learning.
