Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA, is offering an RN Residency Program designed to ease the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. The program provides advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, and preceptorship, with hands-on simulations and mentorship from experienced leaders.

Experienced nurse educators and a supportive care team guide residents through a structured, year-long plan across multiple units, promoting evidence-based practice and collaborative patient

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment.
• Other Certifications may be required during employment.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• RN License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document care.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor therapeutic response and notify provider if needed.
• Provide timely, exceptional care; anticipate and resolve patient needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about condition, plan, medications and follow-up.
