Job summary

Granger Construction is offering a paid Field-based Assistant Project Engineer Intern role in Columbus, OH. You will support project managers and field teams, assist in documentation, scheduling, and daily coordination.

You will review drawings, track progress, participate in on-site meetings, help prepare RFIs and submittals, and help maintain safety standards while networking with peers and mentors to kickstart a career in construction.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field teams by assisting in project documentation, scheduling, and coordination of daily activities.
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with industry standards.
• Track and document project progress, including daily logs, material deliveries, and work completed.
• Participate in on-site meetings to gain exposure to real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals to ensure project milestones are met.
• Contribute to maintaining project safety standards by observing and reporting on-site conditions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers, supporting procurement and logistics activities.
