Job summary

PPC Flex in the United States is seeking a motivated Press Operator Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on apprenticeship provides training under experienced press operators to develop skills in safely setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production presses.

The candidate should be eager to learn, follow safety procedures, and dedicate themselves to producing high-quality work while pursuing classroom and on-the-job training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read basic measurements using rulers, calipers, or gauges (or willingness to learn).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and positive work ethic.
• Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to safely operate and monitor production press equipment.
• Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, and production changeovers.
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and basic blueprints.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members.
• Participate in classroom and on-the-job apprenticeship training as required.
• Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
