Job summary

The San Diego Natural History Museum invites applications for a part-time, temporary Paleontology Intern. The internship offers hands-on experience in fossil curation, imaging, databasing, and collection management within the Paleontology Department.

Selected undergraduates or very recent graduates will work up to 14 hours per week over about 24 weeks, earning $20 per hour. Applicants must be in the final two years of their earth science or evolutionary biology program and reside in San Diego

Qualifications

• Student in final 2 years of earth science and/or evolutionary biology undergrad or recent graduate.
• Live in San Diego County or be willing to commute.
• Interest in natural history and paleontology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fossil curation tasks and project work.
• Photograph specimens for curation and research records.
• Inventory and reorganize the Paleontology Collection.
• Enter or update locality and specimen tracking information in the database.
