Job summary

A community mental health organization is seeking Mental Health Interns. This role is designed for first and second-year Masters level students. First-year interns are unpaid, while second-year interns are compensated at $13.00/hour. Responsibilities include diagnosing conditions, conducting therapy sessions, and maintaining client documentation. Interns will gain valuable experience within a supportive environment focused on community service and client care.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Masters degree in social work, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
• Be in the first or second year of an accredited masters level mental health program.
• Must pass a criminal background check if working with vulnerable populations.
• Must comply with annual TB tests and Flu and Covid immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mental health and substance-related conditions using the DSM V.
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy as assigned.
• Develop rapport with clients while maintaining healthy boundaries.
• Document all incidents immediately and report as required.
• Complete accurate and thorough client reports in required time frames.
