Job summary

Sharon Tube Company (a division of Zekelman Industries) seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support plant efficiency, productivity, and quality. You will work with the Department Manager and maintenance teams on facility layout, process flow, and continuous improvement projects at our Niles, OH facility.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, with strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis.
• CAD/drafting experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design layouts for plant efficiency using CAD tools and drafting software.
• Analyze workflows and material movement to optimize personnel and equipment placement.
• Establish and support labor standards using time study analysis.
• Collect and analyze operational data to improve process effectiveness.
• Lead or assist in continuous improvement projects to enhance quality and throughput.
• Develop and refine manufacturing processes, equipment functionality, and standard methods.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of net yield loss.
• Maintain and enhance documentation such as work instructions, routings, and blueprints.
