Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana is offering a Janitorial Training Program, a 480-hour paid internship designed for individuals with barriers to employment. The program will be completed within six months at 1635 W.

Michigan Street, Indianapolis, with 4-hour shifts Monday through Friday and a focus on skill development in cleaning, disinfecting, and basic maintenance. Participants receive weekly assessments, case management as needed, and a certificate of achievement upon completion.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and comprehension of basic work-related documents.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and standard cleaning procedures.
• Willingness to learn janitorial tools and equipment usage.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors; polish surfaces as required.
• Assist with cleaning rugs, carpets, and upholstery; handle waste disposal.
• Communicate with management and coworkers to support operations.
