Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana offers a 480-hour Janitorial Training Program completed within six months, designed for individuals with limited work history. It provides paid internship experience, case management, and skill-building in janitorial and housekeeping tasks, with a focus on employability and community integration.

Participants gain hands-on cleaning skills, safety training, and soft skills development, culminating in a Certificate of Achievement.

Qualifications

• No formal degree required; the program values capability and willingness to learn.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow protocols are essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect furniture and equipment.
• Polish metalwork and wipe walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Wash windows, sills, and door panels; empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays.
• Transport trash to disposal area and replenish bathroom supplies.
• Communicate with management and customers as needed.
• Set up tables and chairs for events and meetings.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors; assist with cleaning floors, rugs, and carpets.
