Job summary

Landmarc Environmental Systems, LLC seeks an Operating Engineer Apprentice in Naperville, IL. The program is a 2-year apprenticeship with on-the-job learning totaling 4000 hours and a minimum of 353 instructional hours, focusing on safe equipment operation for trenching and pipe installation at landfills.

Wage scales start at $18/hour and progress to $22/hour as OJL hours and related instruction are completed; ideal for hands-on learners aiming to obtain NCCER certifications and field skills.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Travel up to 100%.
• Experience operating excavator, skid steer, forklift and road trucks.
• Experience with Landfill Gas and Leachate Systems preferred.
• Ability to pass a company paid drug test.
• Must be available to work overtime when necessary.
• Valid Driver license that passes MVR policy requirement.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Operate one or several types of power construction equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, forklifts, haul trucks, and skid steers.
• Excavate, move, and grade earth for trenching and pipe installation at various landfills.
• Repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties as needed.
• Complete related instruction courses and check in with instructors/supervisors.
