Duties include supporting seven legislative assistants and principals, tracking legislation, preparing briefing materials, attending hearings virtually when possible, scheduling Hill meetings, and conducting policy

Qualifications

• Self-starter and quick learner.
• Excellent writing and research skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced office.
• Experience on Capitol Hill or at a lobbying firm or trade association is a plus, but not required.
• Nimble and curious with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor.

Responsibilities

• Provide legislative and administrative support for seven legislative assistants, 13 principals and office administrator at a rapidly expanding lobbying firm with clientele that includes Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and non-profit organizations
• Attend hearings, markups, briefings, and other events virtually on behalf of the firm; produce high-quality briefing materials, issue summaries, and meeting notes
• Track legislation and regulations for clients
• Assist with scheduling of meetings on the Hill and “fly-ins” for large and small groups
• Conduct research on policy issues, legislative action, business development, and other issues, and draft concise summaries
• Assist with other administrative tasks related to office operations and client service
