Job summary

All’s Well Healthcare in California partners with the State DDS to run a statewide, paid 3-month shadow training program for Direct Service Professional interns.

As a DSP Intern, you’ll shadow staff under a DSP mentor for up to three months and 30 hours per week, gaining hands-on experience to support adults with developmental or intellectual needs, helping them live more independently and fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) or a Certificate of Completion.
• Must have a valid Identification Card or Driver’s License.
• Must pass a background check and other required health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Helping individuals feel empowered and respected.
• Supporting communication and social interaction.
• Assisting with daily living skills (e.g. cooking, hygiene, transportation).
• Encouraging and supporting participation in community activities.
• Documenting services and progress.
• Advocating for individual rights and inclusion.
