Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation in District 12 (Garfield Heights, OH) offers a paid college internship in Planning & Design and Construction. This part-time role provides hands-on experience across data collection, CADD (MicroStation), and Transportation Asset Management within the district.

You will assist with literature research, data processing, preliminary reports, and map/spatial analysis while gaining exposure to engineering studies and plan development procedures.

Qualifications

Must currently be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing.
Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Travel to collection sites to assist office staff with data collection.
Assist staff with literature research, data processing, analysis and preliminary reports for projects.
Support development of Transportation Asset Inventories and TAM activities.
Utilize Geo-Spatial analysis and map generation using GeoMedia/ArcView to support TAM.
Assist in inspection procedures for contractor work and record-keeping activities.
Prepare and compile information to support report preparation.
Use CADD applications for highway reconstruction plans and plan sheets.
