Job summary

Federated Insurance is seeking a full-time claims intern in our Owatonna, MN office for a ~10-week summer program in 2027. The internship includes training at the Home Office in Owatonna, MN during the first two weeks and hands-on experience in Auto, Liability, Property, and Workers' Compensation claims.

You will develop teamwork, customer service, communication, multitasking, and decision-making skills while contributing to team meetings and projects.

Qualifications

• Current junior in pursuit of a Bachelor degree (Business or Criminal Justice).
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Strong computer knowledge.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Support Claims personnel with telephone coverage and correspondence.
• Facilitate client interactions regarding claim processing.
• Collaborate with supervisor and teammates on progress and issues.
• Help Federated clients by working with other interns and recent graduates.
• Participate in office and team meetings and trainings.
• Complete presentation outlining the internship experience to leadership.
