Job summary

GRAY MEDIA seeks participants for the Spring '27 Training Program with KYTV/KSPR. This paid, 10-week immersive internship lets you act as producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or media sales assistant on real assignments and on-air and online content.

You’ll create digital-first content, work with seasoned pros, dedicate 25 hours per week, and position yourself for full-time opportunities within Gray Media’s network of stations.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in college/university, preferably junior or senior.
• Chases a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
• Demonstrates a doer mindset—hands-on, proactive and ready to work.

Responsibilities

• Own the role: act as producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or media sales executive on real assignments.
• Drive digital engagement: create content for social media, streaming, and web stories.
• Collaborate with seasoned pros to gain industry insights.
• Commit to the craft: dedicate 25 hours per week for 15 weeks to build a professional portfolio.
• Make an impact: tell stories that matter to the community and support local business growth.
• Build your future: position for full-time opportunities within Gray Media’s network.
• Be able to learn shooting, video editing, and writing for on-air and web.
• Practice writing web and on-air scripts.
• Shoot video and conduct interviews.
